Reptile Owner Tips
Good husbandry is the foundation of reptile health. Here are the top things every reptile owner should know.
Every enclosure needs a warm basking spot AND a cooler retreat. Reptiles regulate body temperature behaviorally — give them options.
Most lizards (and some snakes) require UVB light to synthesize Vitamin D3. Replace UVB bulbs every 6–12 months, even if they still glow.
Incorrect humidity causes stuck sheds and respiratory infections. Research your species' native habitat and match it as closely as possible.
Don't assume all reptiles eat the same thing. Herbivores, insectivores, and carnivores have very different needs — consult Dr. Mike for a custom plan.
